2018 Community Supported Agriculture Memberships Now Available

Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) is a community based around its farmers and members.
Members or share-holders, join by purchasing a share at the beginning of the season. This membership helps cover the farm's cost for the season and in return, they receive weekly fresh picked produce shares. Each week the box will vary in produce, depending on what's available in the fields. Each member should be aware that with farming and nature in general, there's often unpredictability.

What Can I Expect?

Our 2018 shares run for 18 weeks from late May until
late September. You will also receive a weekly e-newsletter.
Shares come in two sizes, half shares and full shares.
Half shares are typically enough for a family of 2 and cost $300.
Full shares are typically enough for a family of 4 and cost $500.

Here's a short list of what you'll be seeing during your shares:

Late-May to June:
turnips, snap peas, greens (kale, chard), lettuce,
spinach, arugula, radishes, scapes, herbs, beets
July to August:
summer squash, cucumbers, beans, herbs,
peppers, tomatoes, green onions
Sept to Oct:
eggplant, sweet potatoes, carrots, radish,
onions, greens, lettuce, beans, winter squash

Why Blue Meadow Farms?

We believe our customers deserve the best quality produce along with great customer service. We make it a point to only grow non-GMO seeds that are organic, heirloom, or both. We also follow organic practices to ensure nothing but the best tasting produce.
Our goal with each CSA member is to get to know them and provide them with fresh, local produce. Last year, each CSA member received their weekly boxes along with an e-mailed newsletter. In each weekly newsletter was a description of what's in the box for the week, storage tips for the produce, recipes, and information about what's current at the farm. Returning members also receive a special discount for coming back each year. We hope to continue to grow each year, and we hope you can join us for our journey too!

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I get in my half share or full share box each week?

Each share receives a variety of produce depending on the season. Half share boxes are typically enough to feed a family of 2, while a full share is enough for a family of 4. We recommend you supplement your produce needs with other vegetables and fruits from other sources (grocery stores, co-op market, etc.).

Can I pick what goes in my box?

No, unfortunately at this time, you can't pick what comes in the box. All boxes are packed identically and will include what's available at the farm.
We recommend you have a friend or neighbor pick up the share for you, or give it to a friend. CSA shares make for great gifts! Also, let us know ahead of time the week(s) you can't pick up and the designated person who will be picking up for you. If you can't pick up at all, we will donate the box to Society of St. Andrew or a local food bank.

I'm going out of town and can't pick up my share. What do I do?

We include a weekly e-newsletter with each share, so we'll give you tips and recipes on how to use vegetables you may not be familiar with.

What if I get a vegetable I've never used before?

We grow following organic practices, but we are not certified organic. We use OMRI (Organic Materials Review Institute) listed products. We are working towards getting organic certified, but have not filed for certification yet.

Do you grow organically? Are you certified organic?

At this time, the farm is not open to the public. We are a working farm and spend most of the time working in the fields, the greenhouse, making deliveries, and attending markets. Thanks for understanding!
